The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit has been in operation for almost 30 years. It is currently comprised of two K-9 handler teams. Sergeant David Cole is the supervisor of the unit, and his partner, K-9 Enzo, is a Belgian Malinois. Deputy Drake Brown and K-9 Atlas, a German Shepherd, are the second team in the unit. The teams have a rigorous training schedule as well as annual certifications they must complete. They are constantly honing their skills and attending training classes so that they can maintain their certifications and use best practices in the law enforcement K-9 world to provide valuable services to the citizens of Lancaster County and beyond. The K-9 Unit continues to work with other local, state and federal law enforcement partners. These relationships have proven to be invaluable.
